Welp, the GrinFellas are striking up a deal with a pressing company for the
mass production of the metal monolith B.O.H.I.C.A. They hope to have it ready
for distribution by May 2007 when they will take up the road and personally
deliver to each and every one of the Friends of the Grin a tried and true triple
shot of Old School Metal, leaving havoc in their wake and a CD in your hands.
(and maybe a t-shirt, sticker, and their first born)

RICTUS GRIN IS OUT OF THE STUDIO.
All of the tracks are laid down, one even having alternate vocals. The rough mix is done.
The mastering has been in process, and is subject to being in completion. Kevin Davis (pictured)
is sending the current revision to the GrinFellas along with a few additional notes as to the
updates. If this passes inspection, and it is believed to do so, then the Studio Summer of 2006
will FINALLY be at an end. Pressings and packaging will be the final obstacle keeping this
puppy out of the hot little hands of the tens... upon TENS, of Rictus Grin Fans City-wide.
As soon as our delinquent GrinYard webmaster figures which end is up, there will be a NEW
section of our web site... VIDEOS!! ... that is once he pulls in the RIGHT CLIP!!, converts it to
QuickTime or some other media type, creates the new page, and ports it up we will all be able to
sit back and enjoy a little taste of what the boys have been up to, and things yet to come.

RICTUS GRIN IS IN THE
STUDIO.
The
boys began recording at Studio 5 in late May.
The 27th and 28th were dedicated to recording
the drum
tracks for all eleven of the songs. With
minimal labor pains the album’s skeleton was
put onto
tape. JerryLee
miraculously made it both days without breaking ANY drum sticks, despite
the fact
that he did actually drop a stick once on the second day (damn, that man’s a
machine).
Two
weeks later (June 10th and 11th) Brother Ellenburg made his way down the road loaded up
with 4
amps, 3 guitars, 2 effect pedals, and 1 thing on his mind, … Kicken’ Metal A$$.
Entirely
gratified
with the results and the thickness of the guitars, that light at the end of the
tunnel started
looking
more like it was followed by a monsterous album and
less like it was followed by a train
whistle. Most recently, Lil’
Dave let the boys through the rain up to Studio 5’s doorstep for
another
two days of physical and mental abuse that had a rocky two hour start of
electric lap
steel,
compliments of Mogultone and David and Johnny
Heath. After the experimental slidings
in the
veins of a drunken George Thorogood (reeeeeaaaalllyyy drunkened),
Steelman proceeded to
they
managed to lay out some basic vocal tracks over most of the songs. Though there are some
really
damn fine spots, there are a few tracks that will be overhauled in the upcoming
weeks. New
material
titles include: Dead Man Walking, the
Failure Song, Tool of the Trade, Road to Ruin, and
Get
the Led Out.
Oh well,
